Gerhard Richter - Firenze Edition

After three photographs taken by Richter in 1999 on the banks of the Arno in Florence. Firenze served as a special edition for the book ‘Gerhard Richter: City Life’ (not an artist’s book), which contains a CD with music by Steve Reich

The overpainted photographs and the book were made to support the Florence Contempoartensemble

This edition should not be confused with the group of overpainted photographs, ‘Firenze’ (‘Florence’), which Richter produced in 1999 - 2000 and which are documented in the book, Firenze by Dietmar Elger (2001)
