The 16mm film Volker Bradke was created for the eponymous exhibition held at Galerie Schmela in Düsseldorf on 13 December 1966. It is the only work by Gerhard Richter in the medium of film.
In 2010 the film and book Gerhard Richter. Volker Bradke, 1966, 16 mm, s/w, 14:32 min. were published by Dumont as the sixth volume of the publications from the Gerhard Richter Archive, Dresden.
