A catalogue raisonné of the overpainted photographs of Gerhard Richter is scheduled to be published in 2015.
Gerhard Richter has created a large number of overpainted photographs in his career and new works are continually being produced. The catalogue raisonné will document this aspect of Richter’s oeuvre, still largely unknown to both art specialists and the public. It will illustrate the range of Richter’s creative achievements in this medium.
The catalogue raisonné of Richter’s overpainted photographs aims to be a comprehensive publication that will reproduce and list all known works. It will establish as definitive an inventory as possible of Richter’s authenticated overpainted photographs.
For this reason we are currently collecting the following data on each known overpainted photograph:
- title
- year
- medium
- dimensions
- provenance
- history of exhibitions
- bibliographical references
- any other relevant information
We would be most grateful to receive information from private and public collectors who wish to propose overpainted photographs for inclusion in the catalogue raisonné. Please kindly complete the online form or contact us by email.
While we hope you will be able to supply as many details as possible, we appreciate that some information may be sensitive, personal or private, so please do not feel obliged to complete any sections of this form you prefer not to provide information for.
Please be assured that all information provided will be treated in the strictest confidentiality. All requests for anonymity will be fully respected.
With thanks for your time and support for the project.
