The Firenze edition, all of which are oil paint on colour photographs, is based on three photographs taken by Richter in 1999 on the banks of the river Arno. Firenze was created as a special edition for the book Gerhard Richter: City Life which was made to support the Contempoartensemble of Florence. The edition should not be confused with the publication Florence by Dr. Dietmar Elger.
