An Empty Space is a ten-year exhibition, divided into a series of twenty shows. Each exhibition presents a single artist exhibiting one work at Akira Ikeda Gallery, New York for a period of six months. An Empty Space suggests that content determines the state and the quality of a space, not physical boundaries and dimensions. Gerhard Richter is the second in the series. Each exhibition is accompanied by a small catalogue.
